The Power of PRP: A Natural Rejuvenation Treatment in Aesthetic Medicine

How platelet-rich plasma uses your body's own growth factors to support skin rejuvenation and healing.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is one of the most natural, versatile and well-supported treatments for skin and hair rejuvenation. Sometimes nicknamed the 'vampire facial' because it uses your own blood, it delivers subtle, natural-looking results without synthetic products or major downtime.

Treatment begins with a simple blood draw. The sample is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and growth factors, which are then injected into the skin or scalp to trigger collagen and elastin production, improve blood flow and support tissue repair. Because it uses your own material, the risk of allergic reaction is virtually nonexistent.

For the under-eye area, PRP improves texture, tone and thickness without adding volume, helping to brighten dark circles and soften fine lines. For hair, it stimulates dormant follicles, improves shaft thickness and slows shedding, with results often appearing over three to six sessions.

Across the face, PRP can be microneedled or injected to smooth fine lines, improve texture, reduce acne scarring and create a healthy glow. It is also used on the neck, décolletage and hands to improve elasticity and even out tone in areas often aged by sun exposure.

PRP is natural, versatile, safe for all skin types, and gradual and natural-looking in its results. It can be combined with microneedling, skin boosters and fillers. A course of three to six sessions, four to six weeks apart, is usually recommended, with maintenance every four to six months.
