About the Treatment
What is Alluzience?
Alluzience is a ready-to-use liquid form of botulinum toxin type A, made by Ipsen and distributed by Galderma. Traditional products are supplied as a powder that has to be mixed in the clinic before use; Alluzience comes already prepared, giving a consistent concentration with every treatment.
In the UK it is licensed for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. Many people notice a difference within a few days, and in clinical studies results lasted up to six months.
Like other anti-wrinkle treatments, Alluzience can also be used off-label, meaning outside its licensed indication and based on your practitioner's clinical judgement, in other areas such as forehead lines and crow's feet, bunny lines, a lip flip or gummy smile, jaw slimming (masseter), the neck (platysma bands), the trapezius muscles, the calves and excessive sweating.
Alluzience is a prescription-only medicine, so treatment always follows a face-to-face consultation and assessment. We'll explain whether Alluzience or another option is best suited to you.

What is Alluzience used for?

What happens during treatment?
After your consultation and assessment, a few small injections are placed into the targeted muscles. It takes around 15 to 30 minutes, and most people feel only mild discomfort.
When will I see results?
Many people notice a difference within one to three days, with the full effect after about two weeks.
How long does Alluzience last?
Results typically last four to six months, and up to six months in clinical studies, after which treatment can be repeated.
What are the side effects?
The most common are mild and short-lived: tenderness, redness, swelling or a small bruise at the injection points, and occasionally a headache. Rarely, a nearby muscle can be temporarily affected, for example causing a slightly drooping eyelid. We'll go through all the risks at your consultation.
Can I have Alluzience if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. Treatment isn't recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Who can have Alluzience?
As a prescription-only medicine, it can only be given after a face-to-face consultation with a qualified prescriber, who will check it's safe and suitable for you. We don't treat anyone under 18.
